HAPPY SORROW
Sweet lovely wrestle in my soul
Tie me up and eat me whole
Leave my bones to burn in the cold
I’m sure nobody would know
Collecting the fears inside me
Selling them to the devil at night
Almost everything that surrounds me
Somehow makes me skin feel tight
And I would fall from the tree I swing
And I might listen to the songs they sing
But in the end I’m just watching the world turn over
I’m just waiting for nothing
And so I have a name
Call me by surprise
That’s barely me anyway
Because the truth was only a lie
I can’t wait to move on
I’m finding wilder clouds each day
And the heat coming from the floor
It only hurts for a while this way
Pain, what sorrow lives you apart
I have found a consistent home now
Even if it rips away my heart.
